About Red Dust

We are a well-established Australian not-for-profit organisation working in remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. We sit, walk and work alongside community leaders, elders, young people and families with a focus on improving health and wellbeing outcomes. We are passionate team located across three locations (Alice Springs, Darwin & Melbourne) and we are looking for someone who shares our vision and can help us write the next chapter of growth for our organisation.

About Healthy Living program (HLP)

Red Dust’s Healthy Living Program is a school-based health and wellbeing program delivered through high impact one-week program visits to schools in remote Indigenous communities. Red Dust partners with communities in the Top End and Central Australian regions of the Northern Territory. HLP explores community defined health and wellbeing themes through sports, arts, music and multimedia. Programs are facilitated by dynamic role models, from community and abroad and are delivered in-class and after school.

The role

As the custodian of Red Dust's Healthy Living Program (HLP), you will report to the Director of Programs and be a key member of the Program Management team. You will lead the strategic direction,



design and planning of HLP, ensuring it continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities.

Leading a small team of coordinators, you will foster a strong, collaborative team culture and ensure the program is delivered safely, consistently and to a high standard. You will also bring cutting-edge thinking to program design, helping shape the ongoing evolution and continuous improvement of the program.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the design and planning of the Healthy Living Program for delivery across the Northern Territoryin line with health promotion best-practice.
- Manage a team of coordinators ensuring programs are high quality and delivered according to the annual schedule.
- Define our program content across our sport, music and art-based themes.
- Manage and be accountable for the annual program schedule and budget.
- Champion HLP monitoring and evaluation, working alongside the team to drive quality outcomes.
- Ensure consistency of program delivery across regions and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including community members, schools and community organisations.
- Oversee the engagement of external contractors across your programs.
- Where required, support the coordination of programs in remote communities in your region.
- Build the capacity of the program through resource development and training.




- Collaborate with the programteam to support and identify synergies between Red Dust programs (Strong Young Men and Boys and Strong Young Women).

What you will bring

- Demonstrated experience designing program plans and frameworks, particularly with a health and well-being focus.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation of program delivery.
- Extensive experience delivering programs and leading teams in remote settings and in a culturally diverse environment.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated experience managing and building strong relationships with external contractors that form part of a program team.
- Demonstrated experience planning and managing schedules.
- Proven sound financial management.
- Can work effectively within a team and autonomously.
- Ability to write effective reports for management.
- An Ochre Card (NT Working With Children Check) or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to flex and adapt in a dynamic environment - you are comfortable getting your hands dirty.
