All Hallows’ School, a Catholic Mercy school for girls fromYears 5–12, seeks to appoint a Senior Library Assistant to join ourcommunity.

We are seeking a qualified, committed, enthusiastic andhighly motivated Senior Library Assistant who will be an integralmember of the school’s information and resource specialist team,and works collaboratively within this team to provide high-qualitylibrary and information services support for the School.

The Senior Library Assistant plays a pivotal role in supportingthe learning, reading, research and information needs of the schoolcommunity. This position contributes to the delivery ofhigh-quality library services, fostering a culture of literacy,inquiry and lifelong learning. The successful candidate willsupport staff and students through the provision of libraryprograms, learning resources and digital tools that enhanceinformation and digital literacy skills. They will utilise theirexpertise in library technologies and digital systems to manageresources, analyse data, inform best practice and contribute to thestrategic direction of library services. The role involvesdelivering instructional sessions to classes, under teachersupervision and using programs developed by professional Librarystaff. The role also includes the management and development of theLibrary Makerspace program.

Key Responsibilities

- Ability to manage a wide variety of tasks and roles in avariety of contexts, including working collaboratively withteams, where there is complexity in the ranges and choice ofactions required within a variety of routines, methods andprocedures.
- Ability to provide expertise and assistance with libraryoperations and procedures, resolving problems in both routineand non-routine situations which may be referred from otherlibrary team members.
- Organise, manage and review resource programs,



includingusing appropriate digital platforms (Library Management Systemand digital textbook system) to assist with resourcemanagement.
- Maintain and as directed, design and update onlineinformation
- Develop processes to promote particular designatedresources such as eBook and eAudiobook platforms, across theschool community
- Investigate new technologies and develop processes tointegrate these into the library program.
- Application of knowledge related to emerging and complexissues, including, but not limited to licensing, copyright andmanagement of resources in relation to cultural and historicalsensitivity.
- Apply a range of technical and other skills involving theself-directed application of knowledge gained through formalstudies/ qualifications applicable to this level, or knowledgeand experience that are determined by the School as necessaryto successfully carry out the duties of this position .

Role Requirements

- Hold and maintain a current Queensland Working withChildren Clearance (Blue Card).
- Have approval to work in Australia.
- Have or maintain the appropriate clearances, qualificationsor registrations required to perform the inherent functions ofthe role.
