About The Role

The Heritage Officer (Enforcement & Investigations) supports compliance, enforcement and investigations under the Heritage Act 2017, Underwater Cultural Heritage Act 2019 and Planning and Workplace Act 1987. The role works with other regulators and stakeholders to protect heritage places and objects, ensure legal compliance, provide heritage advice, and support permit and enforcement processes. A Cert IV in Government Investigations is required or will be supported.

The role also manages records, reviews technical reports, liaises with property owners and agencies, contributes to business outcomes, works collaboratively across teams, promotes cultural safety, and undertakes other duties consistent with the position.

Qualifications And Experience

You’ll bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in cultural heritage management or a related discipline (mandatory).
- A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or a willingness to obtain it with support if not already held (mandatory).
- A current driver’s licence (mandatory), with experience in regulatory investigations or a similar field highly regarded.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
