Intrinzic are proud to be partnering with one of Australia’s best-known payments businesses in the search for a DevOps Engineer.

This role will support the data platform, but it sits inside the DevOps team, and the hiring manager has been clear that he wants a strong DevOps engineer and not someone juggling four disciplines from day one. If you have never worked on a data product, that is not a problem.

This is the team that sets the DevOps standard across the whole engineering function, so the pipelines, the infrastructure as code and the security tooling that every other squad works to all come from here.

What you will do

- Build and run the infrastructure the engineering and data teams work on, mostly Kubernetes on AWS with some serverless.
- Own pipelines end to end, from build definition through to deployment, and set the standard other squads follow.
- Write infrastructure as code with Terraform, OpenTofu or CDK, in a team where everything as code is the default.
- Work alongside the security engineers to roll out tooling and keep configuration secure and auditable.




- Automate the routine work, and use AI-assisted tooling to do it. That is actively encouraged here.
- Take an area of the platform as your own once you have found your feet, and be the person people come to for it.

What you will need

- Strong hands-on DevOps engineering, with AWS as your primary cloud.
- Container platform experience on EKS or ECS, and Kubernetes you work with day to day.
- Real infrastructure as code. The tool matters less than the mindset.
- CI/CD pipelines you have built and owned yourself.
- Python or Bash you can write when you need to.
- The confidence to put your hand up on something you have not done before and give it a crack anyway.

Kafka or Confluent, Datadog, GitLab CI, or time in a regulated financial workplace will all help, though none of it is essential.
