Your role

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is committed to improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal people through strong partnerships, strategic investment and sustainable housing solutions.

As a Senior Financial Analyst within the Strong Family, Strong Communities (SFSC) program, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, performance and sustainability of one of AHO's key strategic initiatives. Working closely with project managers and senior leaders, you'll provide financial analysis, reporting and advice that supports informed decision making and the successful delivery of programs that make a real difference to Aboriginal communities.

What you’ll do

- Lead the financial management of the Strong Family, Solid Communities (SFSC) program, including budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Partner with Project Managers to provide strategic financial advice, analysis and support to optimise program outcomes.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial forecasts and executive reporting to support decision making.
- Monitor program budgets, identify financial risks and opportunities,



and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Manage month end financial processes, including reconciliations, journals, accruals and general ledger reviews.
- Prepare annual budgets, Treasury submissions, carry-forward requests and other statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Provide financial assurance and advice on business cases, briefing notes and project initiation documents.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing financial reporting, systems and processes while building financial capability across the business.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, modelling, and reporting in a complex organisation, preferably within government or a highly regulated sector.
- Strong understanding of financial management frameworks, Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury Directions, and public sector financial legislation.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights, options, and recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in developing, reviewing, and providing financial input into business cases or large-scale investment proposals.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Finance or Economics and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing career development.
- Professional membership (or progress toward membership) of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or equivalent is highly desirable.
