A key focus of the role is providing hands‑on infrastructure and systems support to refinery operations teams, including the Control Room, Field Operations, Laboratories, and Reliability teams. Working at the intersection of industrial operations, cyber security, and enterprise infrastructure,
Provide hands‑on operational support for core IT and OT systems supporting refinery and supply chain operations.
Support and maintain critical platforms including process historians, refinery operations systems, machinery monitoring, and industrial applications at the IT/OT boundary.
Own incident response, troubleshooting, vendor engagement, and system availability for operationally critical environments.
Support network operations across refinery and remote sites, including switching, firewalls, segmentation, patching, and monitoring.
Act as a senior technical escalation point for incidents, changes, and problem management, aligned to ITIL, ServiceNow, MYOSH, and MOC processes.
Provide on‑site and on‑call support to Control Room and operations teams, responding calmly to high‑impact operational events.
Support IT/OT integration, ensuring secure connectivity between control systems,
historians, and enterprise platforms in line with IEC 62443.
Maintain and support server, virtualisation, and data centre environments, including VMware and associated infrastructure.
Contribute to lifecycle management, technology refresh, and operational resilience initiatives.
Support refinery cyber security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and assurance activities (SOCI Act, Essential Eight).
Qualifications
Strong experience supporting enterprise and industrial IT infrastructure in operational or critical environments.
Hands‑on experience with networking, servers, virtualisation, firewalls, and endpoint platforms.
Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments.
Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and stakeholder communication skills.
Familiarity with IT/OT integration and operating in safety‑critical environments.
Experience in refinery, oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industrial environments.
Exposure to OT systems, control networks, or industrial applications.
Relevant certifications (Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, cyber/security platforms).
