About the Role and Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Transport to join our Global Forwarding team. In this hands‑on operational role, you'll be responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day ocean freight and transport activities, ensuring the seamless movement of cargo while delivering exceptional service to our customers. As an Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator, you will execute end‑to‑end ocean freight transport operations across import and export shipments.



Working closely with shipping lines, transport providers, customs brokers, warehouses and customers, you will ensure freight is moved efficiently, compliantly and cost‑effectively while maintaining high levels of service delivery. You will also play a key role in building customer relationships, driving operational excellence and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

As the Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator - Transport, you will:

- Coordinate end‑to‑end ocean freight import and export shipments, including bookings, transport and documentation.
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport providers to ensure seamless cargo movement.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage delays, exceptions and customer communications.
- Ensure compliance with customs, regulatory, risk management and operational governance requirements.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while responding to changing operational needs.
- Coordinate transport activities and drive operational efficiencies to support successful freight distribution.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure timely updates within CargoWise One and internal systems.

About You

You are a customer-focused freight forwarding professional who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment. You enjoy problem solving, coordinating multiple stakeholders and delivering outstanding service outcomes while maintaining robust attention to detail and compliance standards.

Key Skills and Qualifications

- 2+ years’ experience in Global Forwarding, Ocean Freight Operations and Transport, with strong knowledge of international freight and supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of global forwarding markets, carriers, customers and logistics service providers.
- Experience coordinating transport operations within a freight forwarding environment, with a focus on service, compliance and operational efficiency.
- Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills,



with the ability to influence positive business outcomes.
- Highly developed planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CargoWise One and freight management systems, supported by a proactive, customer‑focused approach.
