Turn governance requirements into organised, reliable systems

Relationships Australia WA is strengthening its Quality Team to provide integrated leadership and support across quality, practice governance, organisational risk, assurance and work health and safety.

Our Practice Governance Lead and one Quality Practice Partner have been appointed, and we are now recruiting several roles to complete the team’s core capability.

We are seeking an organised and improvement-focused Governance Officer to support the day-to-day operation of RAWA’s governance, risk, assurance, compliance and document-management systems.

About the role

The Governance Officer will help maintain the information, records, registers and follow-up processes that underpin effective organisational governance.

This is more than an administrative position. You will help ensure that obligations are visible, actions are followed through, evidence can be located and organisational systems remain current and reliable.

As an early member of a newly established team, you will also have an opportunity to contribute to the design and improvement of the tools and processes you will maintain.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain governance, risk, compliance and organisational obligations registers.
- Coordinate document‑control and scheduled review processes.
- Support assurance, internal audit and control‑testing activities.
- Coordinate evidence requests and track corrective actions.
- Assist with risk‑register updates and reporting.

- Support the preparation of committee and governance reports.
- Monitor due dates and follow up outstanding information or actions.
- Maintain accurate records of approvals, reviews and assurance activity.
- Support policy, procedure and framework administration.
- Assist with the implementation of standard templates and governance tools.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities to improve administrative systems.
- Provide reliable coordination support across the Risk and Governance function.

About you

- Experience in governance coordination, compliance, risk administration, quality systems, audit support, document control or a related area.
- Strong organisational skills and careful attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow through on commitments.
- Confidence working with registers, records, spreadsheets and business systems.
- Sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- The ability to build constructive working relationships across an organisation.
- A practical interest in improving how systems operate.

Experience in a regulated service environment, community services, health, government or the not‑for‑profit sector will be highly regarded.

What will help you succeed

You will enjoy bringing order to complex information and understand that good governance relies on reliable follow‑through. You will be comfortable asking for information, respectfully following up overdue actions and identifying when something needs to be escalated.

This position would suit an experienced governance or quality coordinator, or someone with strong transferable skills who is ready to build a career in risk, governance and assurance.

Why join Relationships Australia WA?

- Salary $80,000 to $89,524 per annum pro rata plus superannuation
- A supportive and inclusive workplace
- Non‑for‑profit salary packaging up to $18,550
- Additional wellbeing initiatives and employee support programs.
- Flexible working arrangements where operationally appropriate.

Explore our other Quality Team opportunities

We are also recruiting a Risk and Quality Lead, WHS Officer and Quality Practice Partner. Applicants with broader leadership, safety or practice‑governance experience are encouraged to explore those opportunities.

Applications close 20 August 2026

Relationships Australia WA is committed to being a ‘Child‑Safe’ organisation and expects all staff agree to our Children and Young People Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Child Protected Code of Conduct. Appropriate rigorous reference and background checking will be undertaken, including a Working with Children Check (where applicable), Police checks and identity check.
