Senior Dev Ops Engineer

The Senior Dev Ops Engineer will lead and expand the Delivery Team's cloud infrastructure capability, driving agile delivery practices and system reliability across the organisation. This role is a key technical lead for the rollout of a new Point-of-Sale (POS) system across new store locations, with ownership of Azure Dev Ops support for related project activities.

Responsibilities

- CI/CD Pipeline Leadership - Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, setting standards and mentoring junior engineers
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Design and own infrastructure automation strategy using Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible
- Monitoring & Observability - Define and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategy (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Cloud & Server Management - Own cloud environment architecture and management (AWS, Azure, GCP) across cloud and on-prem
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with developers, QA, IT, and business stakeholders to drive delivery outcomes and operational excellence
- Security & Compliance - Lead Dev SecOps practices,



embedding security into infrastructure and deployment pipelines
- Automation & Scripting - Develop robust automation frameworks (Bash, Python) to drive efficiency at scale
- Performance & Reliability - Proactively identify systemic bottlenecks and lead resolution of complex performance issues

Qualifications & Experience

- 6+ years' experience in Dev Ops/Systems Administration, with demonstrated leadership on complex infrastructure projects

Knowledge & Key Skills

- OS & Scripting: Linux, Bash, Python (advanced)
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Git Lab CI (deep implementation and architecture experience)
- IaC: Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation (advanced/expert)
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (production-scale experience)
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (architecture-level expertise)
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
- Networking & Security: Solid networking fundamentals, Dev SecOps leadership
- Version Control: Git
- Soft Skills: Stakeholder management, mentoring, strategic problem-solving, communication
