Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute directly to the design, development, and ongoing performance of Cotality’s core application architectures and online products. You will play a key role in driving innovation by integrating cutting‑edge AI technologies and Large Language Models (LLMs) into our platform, using modern AI tools to accelerate development velocity and elevate code quality.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Product Development & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain Cotality’s online products, services, and core application architectures.
- AI Integration & Innovation: Identify, recommend, and integrate AI technologies and LLMs into our products to drive future‑proofing, innovation, and business growth.
- Infrastructure & Data Systems: Contribute to the systems, databases, infrastructure, secure codebases, and technical documentation underpinning our online services.
- Performance Optimization: Take proactive steps to maximize the performance, scalability, security, and availability of our platforms and user experiences.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, clients, external partners, and internal teams to support collaborative development.
- Operations & Reliability: Manage application monitoring, performance tracking, and contribute to monthly operations support and incident resolution.
- Technical Assistance:



Provide clear technical assistance, mentorship, and guidance across engineering domains.

Job Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

- Java Expertise: Proven development experience with Java, with a strong preference for SpringBoot.
- Web & Frontend: Good JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and HTML skills for building responsive online product interfaces.
- Systems & Databases: Sound experience with databases (ideally MySQL and PostgreSQL) and solid Linux experience, preferably with shell‑scripting abilities.
- AI & LLM Integration: Practical experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., Copilot, Gemini), implementing prompt engineering techniques, or building application features powered by LLMs.
- AI‑Assisted Development: Proficiency in utilizing AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development velocity, optimize code, and automate testing.
- Agile & Teamwork: Experience in software development within a collaborative team setting and Agile/SCRUM environments.
- Code Excellence & Problem Solving: Strong desire to continually improve code quality, quickly navigate complex codebases, and a proactive mindset focused on taking ownership and adding measurable value.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a process‑focused, organized approach to tasks.
