Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced CAD Systems Specialist to join our Technology & Transformation team.
This is an exciting chance for someone who enjoys improving how people work through technology, systems and collaboration. Rather than being responsible for delivering design projects, you’ll play an operational role supporting our wider business by ensuring our CAD environments are consistent, efficient and fit for purpose.
Working closely with Practice Managers, the CAD Systems Working Group and the Technology team, you’ll help maintain and continuously improve Spiire’s CAD environment, ensuring standards, templates, documentation and workflows are aligned across our practices. You’ll also become the go‑to person for CAD‑related support, helping our teams work more efficiently while collaborating closely with IT specialists.
If you have a strong operational understanding of CAD systems and enjoy solving problems, improving processes and supporting others, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll get to do
- Lead and continuously improve Spiire’s CAD standards, workflows and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and support to CAD users across the business.
- Mentor, coach and develop designers and technical staff.
- Drive consistency, quality assurance and continuous improvement across project delivery.
- Work alongside Digital Engineering and project leaders to implement new technologies and processes.
- Support project teams with technical problem solving and complex CAD challenges.
- Coordinate CAD systems,
templates and documentation.
- Assist with software implementation, upgrades and user training.
- Build strong relationships with project teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Advanced knowledge of CAD systems, digital engineering workflows and engineering drafting standards.
- Strong technical capability in developing and maintaining CAD standards, templates, libraries, menus and design tools.
- Experience improving CAD environments through system enhancements, automation or workflow optimisation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to support multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring technical users and driving continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work with design, digital engineering or project delivery systems, with exposure to Autodesk products, 12D, GIS, Synergy or related platforms highly desirable.
- Experience developing, implementing and maintaining CAD standards, quality processes and drafting workflows.
- Strong experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects and technical design teams.
- Experience implementing CAD system enhancements, digital engineering initiatives or technical process improvements.
- Previous experience mentoring and developing technical staff.
Benefits
- Access to our Health and Wellbeing program: financial, social, emotional and physical.
- A CBD office location that emanates our value of fun: includes a breakfast bar, table tennis, wellbeing room and monthly Friday happy hour.
- Extended leave benefits including study leave, volunteer days and an attractive parental leave policy.
- Inclusion and diversity events and initiatives, running clubs and bring your kids to work day.
- Secondment opportunities across offices and working on integrated projects.
- Supportive leaders and clear pathways for career progression.
- A fun, inclusive environment that makes coming to work rewarding.
- Regular morning teas & lunches, team social and office events.
