Job Overview

We are recruiting a psychologist to join the Tasmanian Community Paediatric Service (TCPS) in the Royal Hobart Hospital. The role involves providing evidence‑based assessments and therapeutic interventions to paediatric outpatients (ages 0‑18) across the Southern region and statewide. It requires a multidisciplinary team approach, community travel, and liaison with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Support the development and safety of children 0‑18 years.
- Provide assessment and intervention for developmental needs.
- Work with diverse clinical populations, broadening clinical knowledge.
- Liaise with community providers to link families to services and supports.
- Travel within the community as required.
- Offer supervision and support to psychologists and trainees.

Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary qualification in psychology approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and Current Working with Children Registration (WWCR).
- Extensive experience in contemporary hospital inpatient and/or paediatric outpatient practice, including evidence‑based assessments and interventions.
- High level interpersonal and team working skills, including liaison with patients, carers, and external professionals.




- Experience in providing supervision and support to psychologists and trainees.
- Desirable: endorsement in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, or Health Psychology; Board‑approved supervisor status; postgraduate degree in a relevant specialty.

Employment Conditions

- Fixed‑term part‑time day worker, 45.6 hours per fortnight.
- Commencing as soon as possible until 28 February 2027.
- Salary range $117,272 to $126,182 per annum (pro‑rata) with 12% superannuation.
- Career development allowance up to $1,000 per annum.

- Salary range in line with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
