AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running and support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to innovation. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. You will work on installing and troubleshooting the infrastructure that supports the AWS cloud, and you will collaborate with logistics and other teams to maintain daily operations. There is never a dull moment as each day presents new challenges.

Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure. This role offers the prospect to work in some of the most advanced data centers globally, where you will contribute to cloud technology in the region.

Key responsibilities

- Escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all systems and problems
- Deep diving into Linux server issues
- Remediation of physical layer outages for systems and network
- Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participation in data center power and cooling events




- Shift work (4 days on, 4 days off) including night shifts on a rotational basis
- Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs
- Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region
- Physical replacement of server and network device parts
- Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares
- Enforce Amazon’s security best practices
- Interact with third-party vendors and contractors
- Engage with Remote Hands and Eyes in EU Regional CloudFront POPs
- This position includes a physical component requiring the ability to lift and rack equipment using lifting equipment
- May require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle to travel between sites

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

- 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
