Our client, PKG Safety Innovation (part of Pocketknife Group) is a specialist consultancy helping organisations navigate the intersection of safety, technology, innovation and human performance. This role puts you inside some of the most complex and high‑risk organisations in industries such as mining, energy, oil and gas. You will be working on complex problems related to topics such as critical risk management, psychosocial risk, complex data management as well as digital and AI strategy and implementation.

You will be part of a small team that solves things together, brainstorming and testing ideas, building practical and usable solutions and supporting clients until they’re working and embedded. AI tooling is integrated into all of PKG’s work. They will coach and support you in their workflows, providing you with the tools and encouragement to experiment, stay curious, and try things most firms never get near. About the Role

This is not a traditional safety role.

It is an opportunity for an ambitious safety professional to apply their expertise in wide range of high‑risk organisations in a consulting environment, working alongside specialists in transformation, technology, innovation and organisational change to help clients solve some of their most complex operational and safety challenges.

You will contribute to client delivery from day one while building your consulting capability, commercial acumen and thought leadership profile. The role offers significant autonomy,



direct exposure to senior client stakeholders and the opportunity to influence PKG’s methods, intellectual property and service offerings as well the culture and employee value proposition as the team grows.

Success in this role will come from your ability to navigate ambiguity, ask insightful questions, synthesise complex information and develop practical solutions that create measurable value for clients.

Key Responsibilities include

- Deliver high‑quality safety consulting and advisory services across a range of client engagements
- Facilitate workshops and discovery activities to identify risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives
- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects involving technology, data, AI, human factors and business transformation
- Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a credible advisor
- Support business development activities including proposals, client engagement and opportunity identification
- Contribute to thought leadership, research and market intelligence initiatives
- Utilise technology, analytics and emerging AI tools to generate insights and recommendations
- Build capability in consulting, transformation and change management methodologies

About You

You are a curious, safety professional who enjoys solving complex problems and challenging conventional thinking. You are excited by the potential of digital, data and AI to transform safety and operations, and enjoy exploring how emerging technologies can create practical, measurable improvements for organisations. You may currently be working in a senior safety role in a high‑risk industry, or a HSE consulting practice either in a specialist firm or as part of a larger organisation . Most importantly, you bring strong safety credibility combined with the ability to think strategically and engage confidently with clients.





You will bring:

- Strong health and safety expertise gained within high‑risk industries such as energy, construction, mining, oil and gas or similar sectors
- Confidence in using digital and data technology; experience using Power BI highly advantageous
- Exposure to consulting, transformation, operational improvement or strategic advisory projects will be highly regarded
- Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine passion for continuous learning
- Strong understanding of critical risk and critical control frameworks
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships
- Strong workshop facilitation, discovery and problem‑solving capability
- The ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and bring structure to complex challenges
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility to travel to client site and attend specialised industry conferences
- A Diploma in WHS or higher
