As Senior Engineer – Cyber Security, you will lead and deliver system‑level cyber security across complex defence programs. Working across multiple projects, you’ll drive cybersecurity requirements, architecture, assurance, and risk management, ensuring our material systems are secure, compliant, and resilient.
Working across major Defence projects, you will provide expert guidance, create cybersecurity compliance documentation, and support system accreditation activities, including policy, control, risk, and procedural documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, develop and manage cybersecurity requirements, baselines and controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on the analysis of customer cybersecurity requirements.
- Support development and test teams in implementing and validating cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop and maintain GRC and assurance documentation.
- Act as the technical point of contact for system‑level cybersecurity discussions.
- Perform technical risk assessments and support incident response activities.
- Lead analysis,
root cause investigations, and drive engineering change with strong technical rigour.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- CISSP certification (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies and tools.
- Significant experience in embedded systems within highly regulated industries (defence, automotive, medical or similar).
- Proven experience across cyber security frameworks, SIEM tools, cloud, network and endpoint security.
- The ability to influence engineers and stakeholders at multiple levels.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience working with subcontractors and complex supply chains.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- A proactive, meticulous approach with a mindset of continuous improvement.
- To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance up to NV1 (must be an Australian Citizen ). Eligibility criteria can be found at
