Your day to day
- Prepare and produce high-quality food in accordance with standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Support the culinary team across restaurant, bar, in-room dining, breakfast service, and banquet operations
- Assist in delivering a diverse range of dining experiences, from buffet breakfasts and à la carte dining to conference and event catering
- Work collaboratively with Front of House colleagues to create memorable guest experiences, including guest interaction during service when required
- Maintain exceptional food presentation, consistency, and quality standards at all times
- Receive and check deliveries, ensuring stock is stored correctly and invoices are accurately recorded
- Champion the identification and reporting of workplace hazards and support the implementation of risk control measures
- Maintain accurate HACCP records and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Crisis Management, HACCP, and Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Support the wider Culinary team to achieve the highest levels of guest satisfaction and operational excellence
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
- Complete ad-hoc duties as required to support the smooth operation of the hotel
What we need from you
- A passion for culinary arts and a desire to develop your skills within a luxury hotel environment
- 6-12 months' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar food preparation environment
- Qualifications in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline from a recognised training provider
- A strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a team-oriented approach to work
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and effective time management abilities
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A guest-focused mindset and willingness to support colleagues and guests whenever required
- A professional appearance and commitment to maintaining personal grooming and hygiene standards
- Experience working in a multi-outlet hospitality operation or luxury hotel environment is advantageous but not essential
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and public holidays
- You must meet the legal requirements to live and work in Australia
