School Overview

Camden Haven High School is a diverse, inclusive, flexible and safe learning environment catering for students from Years 7 to 12. The school serves 720 onsite students and 751 students enrolled in distance learning.

With 141 teaching staff and 39 support and administrative staff, the school offers a broad academic curriculum, strong vocational options, high‑quality creative and performing arts, debating, public speaking, leadership and sporting opportunities. Student wellbeing programmes, transition programmes and individualised career choices are emphasised.

- Experience leading and implementing a School Excellence Plan that delivers measurable improvement in student outcomes aligned with system priorities and data‑driven decision making.
- Strategic leadership skills that build excellence in evidence‑informed teaching and learning practices and ensure curriculum implementation across in‑person and online environments.

General Selection Criteria

- High level educational leadership with the capability to manage a complex public school focused on high quality education.
- Ability to lead rigorous and inclusive whole‑school teaching and learning programmes.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.




- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Special Notes

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on school complexity. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P5 for 2026. A review of thresholds and outcomes will occur annually.
