Job Overview

The Wesley Hospital is an iconic private not-for-profit hospital in Brisbane, offering a wide range of acute and tertiary-level medical and surgical services. The Maintenance Officer will maintain, service, and repair hospital buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine preventative and scheduled maintenance tasks, such as minor wall repairs, patching, painting, and cleaning.
- Conduct non-licensed repairs, including water leak resolution and concrete/paving work.
- Carry out critical plant checks where trained and service air handling units, pumps and fans.
- Assist tradespersons and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requirements (e.g., servicing taps, changing light globes).
- Ensure all plant, fittings and equipment meet regulatory compliance standards.
- Document and log all work activity in the asset management system.
- Work independently or as part of a team under limited supervision from a certified tradesperson or supervisor, and potentially supervise a Maintenance or Grounds Assistant.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with broad maintenance skills (carpentry, plumbing, motor maintenance).
- Certificate in Facilities, Building or Construction (desirable), particularly with healthcare experience.




- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations, undergo a national criminal history check and functional assessment.
