We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and engaging Support Worker to support a lovely 60-year-old lady who lives with intellectual disability in the Payneham South area.
She is a kind, polite, and friendly lady who enjoys:
- Listening to 80s music
- Arts and crafts
- Light exercise and attending the gym
- Community activities and social interaction
She values consistency, patience, and positive relationships with her support team.
Her support worker preferences
She would prefer a support worker who:
- Is female
- Speaks clear and easy-to-understand English
- Is patient, friendly, and respectful
- Enjoys creative and community-based activities
- Can build a positive and trusting relationship
As the participant can sometimes find strong accents difficult to understand, transparent verbal communication is important.
Frequency: Fortnightly Thursdays
Time: 5:15PM to 8:45PM
Additional shifts may be available for emergency,
relief, and leave coverage.
Duties May Include
- Social support and companionship
- Community participation
- Arts and crafts activities
- Encouraging participation in light exercise and gym sessions
- Supporting independence and choice
- Assisting with evening routines as required
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and communication records
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Working with Children Check
- Person‑centred approach to support
