About The Role
The Senior Data Analyst is a key member of Housing Australia’s growing data and analytics team, responsible for transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision‑making. Working with modern Microsoft data platforms and enterprise data products, you will use advanced analytical techniques, SQL, Power BI, and statistical tools to deliver high‑quality reporting, dashboards, and insights. This role will play an important part in building a contemporary, data‑driven organisation by helping transition from fragmented reporting to scalable, trusted analytics built on governed enterprise data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high‑quality analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL, and enterprise data products to support data‑driven decision‑making across Housing Australia.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and key business drivers, translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Build and maintain analytical datasets, data models, and automated reporting processes, leveraging modern data platforms and governed enterprise data assets to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand information needs, refine analytical outputs, and improve data quality, reporting standards,
and data product adoption.
- Ensure strong data governance and compliance practices, maintaining the accuracy, integrity, security, and auditability of analytical outputs and reporting solutions.
Skills and Experience
- Strong experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights that support business decision‑making.
- Advanced technical capability in SQL and Power BI, including data modelling, dashboard development, data transformation, validation, and the creation of stakeholder‑focused analytical solutions.
- Working knowledge of Python or R and modern data architectures, with experience working in enterprise data environments, data warehouses, governed datasets, and reusable data products.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interrogate data, identify trends and risks, and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements, with experience working in structured, controlled environments and delivering accurate, auditable analytical outputs.
