Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health sub‑acute inpatient facility. We are a consumer‑centred service focused on rehabilitation and recovery in the Derwent Valley, working closely with Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) and community services such as NDIS providers.

The Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff to ensure the effective and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. The ANUM assists the NUM with planning and managing staff and resources, provides operational leadership through day‑to‑day patient care activities and patient flow coordination.

You will need

- Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative, and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including patient flow principles and discharge planning to achieve patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.





Details of appointment

Permanent part‑time, shift worker position (fully rotational), working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing September 2026. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. For a period of twelve months from publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro‑rata). A 12 % superannuation contribution is added. Salary range follows the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

- Post‑graduate allowance up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Salary package also includes living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment of $2,650 per FBT year and other eligible benefits.

Eligibility

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

- Desirable: Holds or works towards relevant postgraduate qualifications.
