Senior Manager – Communications & Marketing

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead our communications, media, marketing and events strategy while enhancing the profile and influence of one of South Australia's most respected industry associations.

Master Builders SA is the peak industry body representing South Australia's building and construction sector. For more than 140 years, we have championed our members through advocacy, industry leadership, education and innovation.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, you will lead the strategic direction and delivery of Master Builders SA's communications and marketing function.

You’ll oversee a high-performing team and work closely with the wider organisation to drive digital marketing initiatives, media and advocacy campaigns, strengthen member engagement, oversee a busy events calendar and TV show, and continue to build brand awareness to maintain Master Builders SA role as the trusted voice of the building and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategic communications and marketing plans aligned to organisational priorities
- Lead the brand strategy across all communication channels
- Assist in the management of media relations and reputation management
- Prepare media releases, speeches, opinion pieces and other internal and external stakeholder communications
- Support advocacy campaigns and government engagement through compelling messaging
- Drive member engagement through digital communications, publications and campaigns




- Lead digital marketing including website, social media, EDMs and digital content campaigns
- Oversee major publications including magazines, annual reports, newsletters and industry resources
- Oversee events with the Event Manager to deliver high-profile industry events
- Mentor and lead a talented Communications and Marketing team while fostering innovation and continuous improvement

About You

You are an experienced marketing and communications professional who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution.

- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a senior communications & marketing role
- Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills
- Proven success developing and implementing integrated multi-channel digital marketing campaigns and communication strategies
- Media management and stakeholder engagement experience
- A collaborative leadership style with experience managing and developing teams
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High levels of professionalism, judgement and attention to detail
- Experience within a membership organisation, industry association, government or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of the building and construction industry.
