Position Summary

Monash Nursing & Midwifery has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Lecturer and Work Integrated Learning Director to lead one of Australia’s largest clinical placement portfolios. This pivotal position provides strategic oversight of more than 70,000 clinical placement days each year, fostering strong partnerships with health services and industry to deliver high-quality clinical learning experiences for nursing and midwifery students. Working collaboratively across the School, Faculty and healthcare sector, the role will drive the strategic direction, policy development and continuous improvement of Work Integrated Learning, supporting excellence in education and student outcomes. Balancing strategic leadership with academic responsibilities, this position combines leadership of the Work Integrated Learning portfolio with teaching and research activities across Nursing and Midwifery programs. The role will enhance clinical placement planning and operations, build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to curriculum development and delivery, unit coordination, and support research, research supervision and academic mentorship. Key Responsibilities

- Lead the senior lecturer and work integrated learning director role overseeing a portfolio of >70,000 clinical placement days annually.




- Drive clinical placement strategy and partnership development with leading health services and industry.
- Strategically guide and improve Work Integrated Learning policy, operations and delivery across the School.
- Plan and coordinate clinical placement activities, ensuring high quality learning experiences for students.
- Support curriculum development and delivery, unit coordination, and integrate clinical practice into teaching.
- Conduct teaching and research activities in nursing and midwifery programs, including supervision of postgraduate students and academic mentorship.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and scholarship within the academic environment.

Qualifications & Experience

- Certified Registered Nurse or Midwife with current AHPRA registration.
- Advanced qualifications and/or significant professional experience in clinical placement, work integrated learning, or nursing and midwifery education.
- Proven experience in strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement at tertiary level.
- Strong background in tertiary teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision.

Location & Employment

Location: Clayton or Peninsula campus. Employment Type: Full-time, Duration: Continuing appointment. Remuneration: $150,841 – $173,931 per annum Level C (plus 17% employer superannuation).
