About The Role

The accounting manager is the custodian of the general ledger for the Group’s retail businesses. This role ensures financial integrity and acts as the bridge between Endeavour’s onshore Business Units and the offshore team, delivering core Record to Report activities accurately and on time. The position is integral to enabling the transition and standing up of Retail accounting processes in the offshore team, and to jointly implementing a new SAP ERP. Long‑term, the accounting manager provides direction and oversight of the offshore accounting team, championing improvement and transformation as the Group moves to a centralised accounting team.

Location options: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide. Work model is hybrid.

Stakeholder Management

- Drive business partnerships with Retail Business Unit teams (FP&A;, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, eCommerce Finance, and non‑finance teams), refining management reporting frameworks to make results actionable.
- Performance mentoring: coach and build capability across the offshore team, developing both technical and business acumen.

Financial Reporting & Month‑End

- Oversee the month‑end close cycle, ensuring financial integrity, timely delivery, and a culture of rigorous quality assurance; complete all journals, reconciliations, and reporting packages to high standard.
- Maintain oversight of group reporting standards, including OneStream submission integrity and the consolidation of P&L; and balance sheet data.
- Act as the accounting subject‑matter expert for complex retail activities, resolving high‑impact technical accounting challenges.

System and Process Delivery,



Improvement & Projects

- Lead ERP system delivery, completing recent ERP testing, managing defects, and implementing post go‑live enhancements.
- Drive, set, and deliver pre‑ and post‑go‑live ERP processes.
- Enable transition: onboard, train, and transfer knowledge to the new offshore processing team.
- Represent Business Services for successful implementation of business initiatives.
- Optimize systems to automate manual journals and improve the integrity of financial and operating results.
- Simplify accounting processes by identifying opportunities for standardisation and best‑practice implementation.

Balance Sheet, Audit & Compliance

- Ensure secondary review for select balance‑sheet reconciliations, maintaining robust controls, timely risk identification, and resolution.
- Drive analytical reviews across key reconciliations to extract actionable financial insights.
- Guide and ensure effectiveness of balance‑sheet reconciliations for complex and high‑risk balances.
- Coordinate half‑yearly and full‑year deliverables, including external auditor requests and requirements.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Shared Services, or Global Business Services, preferably with at least 3 years overseeing retail‑related accounting functions.




- Experience managing an offshore or outsourced shared‑service delivery model with high business satisfaction.
- Proven track record in process optimisation, leveraging technology, data, and best‑practice insights.
- Exceptional business partnering and influencing skills, anticipating and proactively preparing for business queries.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, Great Plains, or Dynamics 365.
- Accounting professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA).
- Experience with finance technology programs, including SAP ERP implementations.
- Experience with change management and embedding new capabilities.

- Successful delivery of pre‑ and post‑SAP go‑live testing and performance metrics.
- Ongoing performance and service levels.
- Progressive simplification, standardisation, and optimisation of processes.
- Positive outcomes of external and internal audit and risk reviews.
- High stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
