Take the lead in keeping our regional aquatic facilities running at their best by coordinating staff, resources and daily operations in a vibrant, community‑focused environment. Working closely with the Supervisor Aquatic Facilities, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and exceptional aquatic experiences while ensuring facilities remain fully compliant with industry standards and guidelines.

About the role

- Lead the day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of Council’s Aquatic Facilities, ensuring the delivery of safe, productive and high‑quality services to the community.
- Supervise and support a team of aquatic staff, fostering capability and compliance across key operational areas including public supervision, incident response, water testing and pool plant operations.
- Provide technical expertise and operational guidance to optimise facility performance, identify improvements and maintain industry best practice standards.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, wellbeing and accountability, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines, Council policies and operational procedures.
- Participate in an on‑call roster to provide after‑hours and weekend operational support, helping ensure the continued reliability and performance of aquatic facilities.

We are seeking

- Current Pool Operations, First Aid and Pool Lifeguard qualifications, together with a current NSW Working with Children Check.
- Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements and industry standards within aquatic facilities.




- Extensive experience in public aquatic facility operations, including pool plant operation, water quality monitoring and chemical management.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise, support and develop a high‑performing team.
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, reconciliations and the use of point‑of‑sale systems.
- Well‑developed computer, organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.

Where it’s located

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
