About the role

The Medical Advisory Unit provides expert occupational health services and advice to support the operational and recruitment activities of Victoria Police. The core business of MAU is:

- Conducting pre-employment medical assessments for police recruits, PSOs and PCOs.
- Direction to Attend the Police Medical Officer to assess members' fitness for duty.
- Drug and Alcohol Workplace testing of Victoria Police members.
- Specialist Group Medicals as per statutory requirements.
- Medical Advice Line – 24/7 service that advises and supports members potentially exposed to blood borne viruses and other infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

- Maintain reception in a professional manner and provide an informed, high level courteous customer service to all clients.
- Provide high quality administrative and management support to the Division including productive preparation and management of manual and computerised records.
- Assist with the organisation of appointments, meetings, referrals and reports to support the provision of clinical services.
- Complete correspondence, keyboard tasks, document movement and file security.




- Respond to requests for assistance or information from both internal and external clients in a professional and confidential manner in accordance with policy and legal requirements.
- May be required to undertake other duties, such as finance support tasks.
- Ability to provide professional reception and customer service.
- Good interpersonal, communication skills and understanding of requirements to work effectively in sensitive situations.
- Ability to prioritise and produce accurate work within agreed deadlines operating under minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain accurate and efficient office systems and records.
- Keyboard and computing skills.
- An understanding of the customer service.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

- One (1) x Full time - fixed term position available until 30/6/2027.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
