Industrial and Protective Coatings Representative

Do you have excellent knowledge and experience in industrial and protective coatings or have automotive sales experience?

We are looking for a customer-focused Industrial and Protective Coatings Representative to work in the Darwin region on growing our industrial and protective coatings business. Industrial or automotive sales experience is preferred, but applicants with transferrable skills will be considered.

You will be an experienced salesperson with excellent contacts and knowledge in the area of industrial, protective and marine coatings interested in a new challenge and committed to working collaboratively.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As an Industrial & Protective Coatings Representative, you will report to the Darwin Branch Manager and be responsible for the following:

Providing excellent customer service,



support and advice to industrial and protective coating and automotive customers including onsite support and guidance;

Administrative duties including preparation of quotations, customer invoicing, ordering and processing of sales; and

Build positive working relationships with trading partners to ensure the ongoing development of the brand and Group reputation.

YOUR ROLE

You will have the responsibility for working closely with the Darwin Branch Manager in the delivery of the following key tasks:

Effective management of existing customers through a commitment to providing a professional customer experience.

Focuson incremental increase of business in line with agreed and strategic sales targets.

Commitmentto work towards sales budgets and targets in accordance with the budgets set by the Managing Director.

Utiliseyour technical knowledge of architectural, industrial, protective and automotive paint systems to provide expertise and support to customers and effectively represent the company's product offerings.

Maintainrelationships with existing customers, focusing on those in the industrial, protective, and marine coatings industries, including fabricators,



and refinishers.

Stayinformed about the local competitive landscape within the industry and adapt strategies to maintain the company's robust position in the market.

Collaborateclosely with strategic supply partners to ensure the availability of products, address customer needs, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Demonstrateself-motivation and flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.

Adherence to Workplace, Health and Safety requirements and procedures.

All other duties as reasonably directed and required.

HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED

The successful applicant will have the following mix of technical and personal skills:

Good verbal and phone communication skills.

A position attitude to working in a busy and varied role including strong organisation and time management skills.

A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

A background in the coatings industry, primarily related to the protective, industrial, or marine sectors.

Working knowledge of protective coatings or spray equipment & refinishing supplies.

Active contacts with refinishers and fabricators are needed to build and create a profitable customer base.

Industrial Coatings Representatives are preferred to hold a Spray-Painting Trade or Qualification.
