About the Role

At AIG we are reimagining how we help customers manage risk. As the Casualty Schemes Lead, Australia, you will play a key role in growing and developing a specialised portfolio for our Schemes & Facilities business. You will focus on delivery of bespoke products, enhancing profitability, and ensuring underwriting quality within this segment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the AIG Casualty Schemes & Facilities portfolio, including broker binder arrangements and the standalone casualty product for SMEs via AIG GO.
- Respond to referrals from brokers that fall outside of pre‑agreed parameters and review/renew scheme and facility terms through negotiation with broker partners.
- Maintain and develop key broker relationships, ensuring ongoing communication and collaboration.
- Develop and execute pipeline initiatives and new business opportunities within the Schemes and Facilities portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with AIG Business Rules & Guidelines and internal standards.
- Collaborate with AIG colleagues across the business and with the project delivery team to integrate broker platforms with AIG systems.
- Develop and present compelling go‑to‑market collateral, capabilities, and goals of the Schemes and Facilities portfolio.
- Report on underwriting performance indicators to the Head of Casualty, Australia, and support the delivery of profitability and performance goals.
- Engage with external brokers and attend client meetings to foster positive relationships.




- Complete administrative and financial tasks within required timeframes and respond to ad‑hoc requests from Head of Casualty.

Qualifications and Skills

- Strong underwriting or broking experience, ideally in a senior portfolio role focused on SMEs.
- High degree of business and financial acumen.
- In-depth understanding of casualty products and the Australian market.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptable, expansive, and solution‑focused mindset, capable of managing competing priorities.
- Disciplined, controlled, and strategic approach to underwriting, prioritizing a sustainable portfolio over rapid growth.
- Awareness of financial, operational, and market feedback and a willingness to act on it.
- Commitment to a diverse, transparent, collaborative, and open working environment.
