Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter – Responsibilities

- Underwrite new and renewal Motor Fleet business in line with Zurich's underwriting framework and delegated authority.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to support retention, acquisition and long‑term portfolio growth.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting profitable renewal outcomes.
- Assess risks against appetite and underwriting guidelines, balancing technical analysis with commercial opportunities.
- Partner with customers, brokers and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored insurance solutions and support broader business objectives.
- Support and mentor developing underwriters, sharing technical expertise and helping build underwriting capability across the team.

Qualifications

- Experience underwriting Motor Fleet, Commercial Motor, Heavy Motor, Transport, Plant and Equipment or related commercial insurance risks.
- Strong understanding of underwriting frameworks, risk assessment and portfolio management.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with brokers and external partners.




- Demonstrated commercial judgement with the ability to balance risk and growth opportunities.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting less experienced underwriters or colleagues.
