The Commercial Specialist/s will provide expert commercial, procurement and contract management support for activities related to the delivery of Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) UAS programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy Development: Design and implement fit-for-purpose procurement methodologies that support rapid on boarding and sustainment of UAS capabilities under the A6020 and RAS at Scale Delivery Model.
- Contracting Expertise: Advise on and develop contracting options, including standing offers, panels, and performance‑based models, to achieve value for money and operational flexibility.
- Approach-to-Market Leadership: Support market engagement activities, including RFIs, RFTs, and industry briefings, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Defence‑specific policies.
- Tender Development: Prepare comprehensive tender documentation, including Statements of Work, evaluation criteria, and contractual terms, aligned with RAS at Scale principles for trusted and sovereign sourcing.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Provide commercial risk analysis and ensure adherence to export control requirements,
governance frameworks, and Defence ethical and legal obligations.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to negotiate desirable outcomes
- Solid working knowledge of the ASDEFCON contract suite from initial tailoring through to in‑service management
- Negotiation experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to engage collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- The ability to understand contractual artefacts and contract management plans to procure goods and services to meet complex stakeholder needs.
Desirable Requirements
- A tertiary degree or higher in business, law, commerce, finance or similar
- Demonstrated knowledge of AIC Frameworks
