Our client is seeking an experienced Study Manager to join their team on an initial three-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled infrastructure, engineering, or project development professional to lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary studies that support strategic investment decisions and long‑term organisational objectives.

About the Role

As the Study Manager, you will lead the end-to-end study development process across a portfolio of strategic projects. Working closely with technical, commercial, planning, environmental and stakeholder teams, you will ensure studies are delivered with rigour, accuracy and strategic alignment. Your role plays a key part in shaping future infrastructure and investment decisions through the development of robust business cases, options assessments and evidence‑based recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the full study lifecycle from initiation through to final recommendations.
- Coordinate and integrate technical, commercial, planning, environmental and stakeholder workstreams.
- Provide strategic leadership across multiple studies to ensure successful delivery, feasibility and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain best‑practice front‑end engineering development (FEED) and study management processes.
- Develop and oversee study scopes, schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, constructability reviews and technical specifications.
- Guide the development of investment logic mapping and business case frameworks.
- Lead scenario modelling, forecasting activities,



options assessments and analytical studies.
- Support high‑quality investment decision‑making through robust analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Contribute to organisational objectives by fostering a high‑performance, results‑driven culture.
- Identify opportunities for value optimisation, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Planning, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA, Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Planning (highly regarded).
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in study management, front‑end engineering development, feasibility studies or major infrastructure planning.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary studies involving technical, commercial, environmental, planning and stakeholder workstreams.
- Proven capability in developing:
- Investment Logic Maps (ILMs)
- Business cases
- Options assessments
- Scenario modelling
- Demand forecasting frameworks

- Expertise in:

- Scope definition
- Cost estimation
- Scheduling
- Resource planning
- Constructability reviews
- Technical specifications





- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess risk, optimise value and support complex investment decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and senior leadership levels.
