About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting key HR administration and system processes. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, maintaining employee data, and supporting HR operations in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll using ADP/Payforce, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and validate employee hours, pay rates, and entitlements (using UKG Realtime system)
- Process wages, allowances, deductions, taxes, and superannuation
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new starters, changes, and terminations
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for Finance and management
- Maintain employee records in Workday, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documentation
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Assist with HR reporting (e.g. headcount, turnover)
- Support HR projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in HR, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in payroll and/or HR administration
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Experience with payroll/HR systems (ADP, Workday, or similar preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Solid organisational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
