About the Role

You’ll be working closely with the Farm Weekly team to lead a newsroom that delivers high-quality print, digital and social media content, producing work that directly supports our agricultural and rural readership. This is a hands‑on leadership role that offers both independence and collaboration, with a clear focus on practicing journalistic excellence, driving data-informed digital audience growth, and mentoring your editorial team.

What You’ll Bring

- Agricultural Expertise: A strong, comprehensive understanding of agriculture, rural issues, markets, and regional events.
- Digital Newsroom Leadership: Proven experience holding a leadership role within a digital news environment, with the ability to monitor team performance using data dashboards like Chartbeat.
- People Management & Mentoring: Exceptional capability to coach, train, and mentor editorial staff while effectively managing day‑to‑day newsroom operations, rostering, and resource sharing.
- Journalistic Excellence:



A deep commitment to credibility, accuracy, and community advocacy, along with the sharp editorial judgment required to manage legal risks and quality control.
