About the role

As a Registered Nurse, you will bring your fantastic customer-facing skills and passion to deliver an exceptional service, while working together to ensure Australia’s supply of blood products.

Responsibilities

- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
- Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collections equipment
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets




- Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
- Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

Qualifications and Requirements

- Occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kgs
- Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
- Utilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
- Be flexible and reliable to work wide-ranging shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Tuesday to Saturday, including afternoon shifts and additional hours during busy periods when required
- Be open to future opportunities to grow within Lifeblood
