Safety Officer | Hands-on WHS role supporting residential construction and Manufacturing

As Stoddart Group continues to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Safety Officer to join our Work Health & Safety team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their WHS career while receiving ongoing mentoring and support from our experienced Group WHS Manager.

This is a hands‑on, site-based role where you’ll partner with operational leaders, employees and contractors to strengthen our safety culture across residential construction sites and branch locations. What you’ll be doing

Working closely with our Group WHS Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Conduct site inspections, safety audits and compliance reviews across residential construction sites and branch locations.
- Work alongside operational leaders to identify hazards, assess risks and implement practical control measures.
- Support compliance with WHS legislation,



Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and company policies.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety initiatives that engage employees and contractors.
- Assist with incident, hazard and near‑miss investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist with injury management and return‑to‑work processes.
- Support the review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and maintaining accurate WHS records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Build strong relationships across the business to encourage a proactive and positive safety culture.
- Develop your skills through exposure to both our residential construction and manufacturing operations.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is practical, approachable and eager to learn. You don’t need to know everything already; we’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in WHS who is ready to continue developing their career in a supportive environment.

You’ll bring:

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher) or be currently working towards completion.
- WHS experience within residential construction, manufacturing or a similar operational environment.




- A sound understanding of Australian WHS legislation, risk management principles and practical safety controls.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence positive safety behaviours.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate documentation.
- The ability to work autonomously while working collaboratively with leaders and the wider WHS team.
- A current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel between operational sites.
- Exposure to workplace incident investigations, with the Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) highly regarded.
