Position: Maintenance Engineer (Full Time)

FIFO rostered : 8 Days On/6 Days Off

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Karara Mine Site. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will provide engineering support for fixed plant maintenance activities, reliability improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Development, standardisation and continuous improvement of Safe Work Instructions and Safe Work Procedures (SWI/SWP).

Root cause analysis and development of practical solutions for recurring equipment failures.

Condition monitoring and reliability engineering of critical fixed plant equipment.

Delivery of maintenance improvement and optimisation projects.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare detailed Safe Work Instructions/Procedures (SWI/SWP)



for maintenance and project tasks and regularly review and update existing SWI/SWP to reflect the best practices for carrying out the works safely and efficiently.

Support field inspections, task observations, risk assessments, incident investigations and pre-start activities as required.

Collect, review and analyse breakdown history, work orders and equipment performance data to identify recurring failures and maintenance improvement opportunities.

Maintain accurate PM inspection data in accordance with company document-control requirements.

Participate in root cause analysis investigations and assist with developing practical corrective and preventive actions.

Assist with reliability and condition-monitoring activities for critical fixed plant equipment, including review of inspection findings and maintenance trends.

Assist with the planning and delivery of assigned maintenance corrective actions from scope definition through to QA/QC.

Assist with the preparation of plans, drawings, work schedules and permits as well as materials and parts for improvement and optimisation project works.

Liaise with vendors and contractors to achieve the best outcome in terms of procurement of materials, parts and services.

Perform other reasonable duties within the employee’s skills, qualifications and competence, as directed by the Lead Engineer, Superintendent or Site Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:





Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognised engineering qualification

Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Current Construction Induction Card (White Card), or willingness to obtain before mobilisation

Current Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certifications, or willingness to obtain before mobilisation

Ability to meet site medical, fitness-for-work and mobilisation requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Sound engineering fundamentals and an interest in fixed plant maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.

Strong analytical and practical problem-solving ability.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.

Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary site team and take direction from senior engineers and supervisors.

Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Exposure to engineering design or drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is desirable.

A proactive approach to learning, safety and professional development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

1–2 years of relevant engineering experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing or heavy industry.

Graduates with relevant vacation work, internship, workshop or site-based experience are encouraged to apply.

Exposure to fixed plant equipment such as conveyors, feeders or chutes is desirable.

Experience using SAP is desirable.
