Mount Isa Mines is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician, whose duties include maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems at the Mount Isa site.

The Role

The position is residentially based in Mount Isa and is a day‑shift role operating on a 4 days on/4 days off or 4 days on/2 days off rotation. The candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance with all site procedures, sound decision‑making, teamwork and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

- Installation, repair and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Responding to plant breakdowns with prioritization to minimise downtime.




- Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship and discretionary effort.

Qualifications

- Safety as a core belief with a solution‑seeking attitude.
- Queensland restricted electrical worker’s licence.
- Refrigeration Handling Licence.
- Australian manual driver’s licence.
- Extensive experience with installation and maintenance of chillers, large DX plants, package and split systems, water coolers, ice machines, cold rooms, air driers and pressurisation units.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to recent challenges, carry out responsibilities and continuously learn new technical skills.
- Sound understanding of workplace Health, Safety and Environment requirements and safe work practices.
