The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is the Australian Government's primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. Our purpose is to protect the Australian people and the workplace from the harmful effects of radiation, through understanding risks, best practice regulation, research, policy, services, partnerships and engaging with the community.

Section Overview

The Finance section is responsible for ARPANSA’s financial reporting, financial service operations, travel management and procurement functions and for developing and maintaining robust financial systems that provide high-quality financial information that supports the Agency’s strategic objectives. The section ensures the accuracy of the Agency’s official accounting records; produces timely financial performance reports; manages internal controls to mitigate risk; and safeguards the Agency’s assets.

Primary Purpose of the Role

The Finance Systems Accountant will manage, develop and support ARPANSA’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including the Financial Management Information System (Technology One Enterprise software) and Travel Management System (Expense 8) and Link 4 (e invoice), to ensure data integrity,



enhance information quality and continually improve the ease of access to ERP systems.

Your role is pivotal in leveraging financial systems and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial management, reporting and analysis. You require a deep understanding of both accounting principles and information systems, enabling you to bridge the gap between finance and IT. By optimizing and integrating financial systems, you will ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, ultimately driving strategic decision‑making and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Your expertise in system implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting further supports the organisation's financial integrity and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

- Manage, develop and support ARPANSA’s ERP systems, including Technology One Enterprise software, Expense 8, and Link 4.
- Ensure data integrity and enhance information quality across all financial systems.
- Drive continuous improvements to system accessibility and usability.
- Bridge finance and IT functions to optimize financial management, reporting, and analysis.
- Maintain system implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to support financial integrity and operational effectiveness.
