Lead Civil Structural Engineer required to join a consultancy and take the lead on a newly awarded major contract with a solid long‑term pipeline.

As the Lead Civil Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in both technical delivery and team leadership. Reporting to Principal Civil and Structural Engineer, you will lead civil and structural design activities across a diverse portfolio of brownfield projects while mentoring engineers and supporting the continued growth of the business.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, working in an agile environment where your technical expertise, leadership capability and commercial awareness will make a genuine impact.

This role would suit a Senior looking to take a step up, a Lead who is finding a pathway to leadership limited or a current Principal who wants to take more ownership of their projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering designs across a range of projects
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports and technical documentation
- Deliver practical, buildable solutions across civil works, including site layouts, earthworks and drainage, as well as structural steel and concrete design




- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and development support to junior engineers
- Support proposal development and contribute to securing future project opportunities
- Collaborate closely with clients, project teams and key stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, standards and project delivery

About You

- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
- CPEng accreditation is essential, with RPEQ preferred or the ability to obtain registration
- Extensive experience within an engineering consultancy environment
- Proven capability delivering civil and structural design for brownfield projects within the Water & Wastewater, Oil & Gas (including CSG), Petrochemical or Chemical industries
- Solid experience in earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and structural steel design
- Proficiency with Tedds and SpaceGass software
- Excellent technical reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to balance hands‑on technical delivery with leadership responsibilities and client interaction
- Commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business development activities
- Comfortable working within a collaborative, agile consulting environment
