Serve with purpose. Grow through community.
Our Community Development team works across the youth, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), disability, children's, seniors' and women's sectors to strengthen inclusion, participation and community connection across Blacktown City.
As Community Development Officer - Women, you lead initiatives that support women and gender-diverse people from all ethnicities and abilities. You identify emerging community needs, build partnerships with local organisations and agencies and develop initiatives that respond to community priorities. You analyse issues, negotiate outcomes and coordinate projects that help ensure the needs, aspirations and voices of women are heard and considered in community planning and service delivery.
Working closely with residents, community groups, service providers and Council staff, you turn ideas into practical outcomes that make a difference. Through this work, you help strengthen inclusion, community cohesion and wellbeing for the more than 460,000 people who call Blacktown home.
If you are passionate about gender equity and creating positive community outcomes, we would love to hear from you.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and excellent teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,940.24 per week
- access to Council's flextime arrangement
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
Our commitmentto safety

We are a child safe organisation that supports and promotes the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children.
