We are seeking a detailed focused, customer oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team

What you'll be doing
As the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries, you will work closely with employees, managers, People & Culture and Finance Teams to deliver a high quality payroll service and support a positive employee experience. A key project will be to integrate a newly acquired entity into payroll, working with the P & C team and MYOB Pay Global.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, accurately calculate wages, salaries, overtime, shift allowances, penalties, loadings, bonuses and deductions.
- Review and validate timesheets, attendance records and leave applications.
- Reconcile payroll data and identify discrepancies prior to payroll finalisation.
- Assist with month end and year end payroll activities, including leave, payroll tax, superannuation, wage accrual and PAYG reconciliation.
- Process PAYG withholding, payroll tax, superannuation, and other statutory obligations. Prepare and submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting.
- Ensure payroll records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, Finance and People & Culture teams.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, superannuation payments, and payroll related liabilities.
What you will bring
- 5 + years experience in accounts or similar finance role, ideally in the manufacturing industry
- Tertiary qualifications in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Finance, HR or related discipline
- Proficiency in payroll software, eg MYOB
- Experience with shift work, casuals, overtime, penalty rates, allowances
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLookup, pivot tables, formulae)
- Experience in interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong reconciliation and problem solving abilities
