Old Storehouse, is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals, overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen. The role also includes menu planning, ordering and managing stock, supervising kitchen staff, and delivering a consistently high standard of food and service.

Applicants must possess a relevant qualification and/or substantial experience in a commercial kitchen. Monitor and maintain the quality of food throughout preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and compliance with business standards. Liaise with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and front-of-house employees to discuss menu planning, food preparation requirements, and operational matters. Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance, training,



and supervision to kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures.

Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, customer requirements, and quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations, and promote these standards among staff. Assist in the selection, training, supervision, and performance development of kitchen staff as required.

Store, preserve, freeze, and rotate food products using appropriate food handling and storage techniques to maintain quality and minimise waste. Qualification & experience Minimum of certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant hospitality qualification or equivalent work experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in related position.
