Position Overview

LQ Consulting Group is seeking a motivated and experienced General Accountant to join its growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting and financial functions, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements while supporting the financial operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.

· Maintain the general ledger and prepare journals and end-of-month reconciliations.

· Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and other financial records.

· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

· Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll legislation, superannuation and related obligations.

· Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and assist with other taxation obligations.

· Prepare income tax returns and assist with tax planning and compliance.

· Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with Australian accounting standards.

· Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

· Liaise with external accountants, auditors and regulatory authorities as required.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, taxation and statutory reporting requirements.

· Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and internal controls.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

· A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce (majoring in Accounting), Finance, or a closely related discipline.

· At least two (2)



years of recent full-time (or equivalent part time) professional experience as a General Accountant, Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Tax Accountant or in a closely related accounting position.

· Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, management reports and maintaining general ledgers.

· Experience preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) and assisting with Australian taxation compliance.

· Experience processing payroll and performing account reconciliations.

· Sound knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation legislation and financial reporting requirements.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Excel.

· Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

· High level of accuracy, attention to detail and professional integrity.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desirable

· Membership of, or progress towards membership of, CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

· Experience working in an Australian accounting practice or commercial accounting environment.

· Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

· Knowledge of payroll tax, fringe benefits tax (FBT) and superannuation compliance.

Salary

$85,000 per annum, commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and subject to the successful applicant meeting the required qualifications and experience.
