We're looking for an experienced Workshop Coordinator to become the operational link between our workshop teams, clients and suppliers. This is a key role that ensures jobs are planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently while supporting our supervisors to maintain a safe, productive and high-performing workshop.

About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, you will coordinate the day-to-day operational flow across our Fabrication, Machining, Coatings and QA/QC departments. You'll work closely with Supervisors to ensure work is planned, resources are available, equipment is maintained and clients receive regular updates on job progress.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, communicating across multiple teams and keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily workshop activities to maximise productivity and workflow.
- Work with Supervisors to prioritise work, allocate resources and maintain production schedules.
- Monitor job progress and provide updates to Project Managers, Job Owners and clients.
- Coordinate workshop maintenance schedules, equipment servicing and external contractors.
- Maintain workshop operational registers, rosters and delivery schedules.
- Liaise with estimators, QA/QC and Planning to ensure jobs are set up correctly.
- Assist with labour planning and resource coordination.
- Participate in daily planning meetings and weekly operational reviews.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and assist in implementing practical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across workshop operations.
About You
You are organised, approachable and enjoy coordinating people and processes.
You communicate confidently, remain calm under pressure and take pride in delivering outstanding customer service and operational support.
You'll also have:
- Experience in a workshop coordination, production planning, scheduling or operations support role.
- Experience within engineering, fabrication, machining, manufacturing, mining or heavy industry.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workshop management systems.
- A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Trade or Tertiary qualification in Fabrication, Mechanical, Machining or a related discipline.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of fabrication, machining, welding and coatings processes.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and workshop documentation.
