Jayliano's Brookside is a family-friendly, buffet-style steak and seafood restaurant located in Mitchelton, Brisbane. We are open six days a week, including Sunday lunch, and specialise in Western and Mediterranean cuisine with a touch of Asian influence.

With over 17 years of hospitality experience operating successful buffet restaurants in the Northern Territory, we are committed to delivering quality food and outstanding customer service. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team in Queensland's venue.

About the Role

As a Cook, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of our kitchen. This full time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high food quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Assist the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily kitchen operations.
- Ensure food preparation, storage, and handling comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with inventory management.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

Skills and Experience





To be successful in this role, you should have:

- A minimum of two years' experience as a Cook in a fast-paced restaurant.
- Experience preparing Western, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisine.
- A relevant culinary qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for producing high-quality food using fresh ingredients.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary of $75,000–$85,000 per annum, plus superannuation, based on skills and experience.
- Full-time permanent position with a minimum of 38 hours per week.
