Primary objective
This position supports the Hospital in the Home (HITH) Expansion program through the provision of a full range of
administrative functions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist Nurse Management Consultant (NMC) and HITH Expansion team to organise all administrative activities including
maintain adequate office supplies; arrange procurement of supplies and equipment as necessary.
2. Provide first point of contact for clients, families, health professionals and internal and external service providers.
3. Organise and provide secretariat support for meetings including the recording of minutes and dissemination of
information to stakeholders.
4. Maintain up-to-date electronic records and strict confidentiality of personal information.
5. Liaise with members of each team to ensure all patient information required for discussion including test activities and
assist with patient and staff travel arrangements as directed.
6. Assist with writing, reviewing and amending policies and procedures according to NTG and DoH policy guidelines.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to
communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
2. Proven ability to provide effective high level administrative and meeting secretariat skills in an efficient, highly confidential
and mature manner.
3. Demonstrated high level computer literacy and experience in the use applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
including management of multiple calendar systems, financial systems and healthcare databases or similar.
4. Ability to work independently and unsupervised with proven ability to maintain standards during periods of high workload
activity, particularly accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and use initiative to identify opportunities for improvement, problem solving
and proven coordination skills.
6. Proven ability to work as part of a team and demonstrated reliability as an affective team member.
7. Demonstrated understanding of cross-cultural issues in the Northern Territory
Desirable
1. Experience in a health care setting
