About the Opportunity
An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Director to lead the implementation of a major enterprise ERP transformation program within a large and complex organisation. This role will be responsible for delivering a modern ERP platform encompassing Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Planning and Analytics capabilities, while supporting broader business transformation objectives.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, governance oversight and hands-on program delivery expertise to ensure successful implementation and adoption across multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the implementation of the ERP platform, driving adoption of best-practice processes and standard operating models.
- Contribute to a significant enterprise-wide transformation program while maintaining business continuity.
- Support strategic workforce and capability planning aligned to program priorities.
- Collaborate with business leaders, technology teams and specialist functions to maximise delivery outcomes.
- Act as a transformation leader, promoting organisational values, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Program Delivery
- Define project scope, timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Identify, manage and mitigate program risks, issues and interdependencies.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and change management activities to support successful business adoption.
- Monitor delivery performance, ensuring adherence to project plans and budgets.
- Drive compliance with established program governance frameworks and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and present project updates and recommendations to executive and senior leadership stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Build solid relationships across executive, business and technology functions.
- Provide expert guidance to support informed decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external implementation partners, consultants and software vendors.
- Facilitate collaboration across multiple business units to achieve program objectives.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, standards and governance frameworks.
- Support audit activities and ongoing risk management initiatives.
- Identify operational risks and contribute to effective mitigation strategies.
- Maintain awareness of relevant industry, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Technology, Project Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years' experience leading large-scale enterprise projects, programs or transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ERP implementation leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of Finance, HR and Payroll technology environments.
- Experience operating within highly regulated industries.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.
- Proven experience managing complex requirements across enterprise programs.
- Strong governance, risk management and program delivery capabilities.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
Highly Desirable
- Experience delivering Workday or comparable tier-one ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare, insurance, financial services or similarly regulated sectors.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives.
