Enduring Investment Partners has signed a term sheet to acquire an established Queensland industrial and technical services business.

The company provides specialist equipment, servicing, preventative maintenance and technical support to customers across defence, mining, industrial and critical infrastructure markets. It has a strong reputation, an experienced workforce and a significant base of recurring service and maintenance revenue.

We are seeking an exceptional CEO in Residence or Operating Partner to work with EIP during the acquisition process and transition into the CEO role following completion.

The opportunity

The successful candidate will initially work alongside the EIP investment team and the current owners to:

* Support final due diligence and transition planning

* Develop the first 100-day operating plan

* Assess the organisation, systems and management structure

* Build a transparent growth and value-creation plan

* Establish strong relationships with the existing owners, employees and major customers

Following completion, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for leading the company and delivering its next stage of growth.

Key responsibilities

The CEO will be responsible for:

* Leading the company’s strategy, operations and financial performance

* Building a strong and accountable management team

* Improving operational systems, reporting and performance management

* Developing the company’s sales and business-development capability

* Growing recurring service and maintenance revenue

* Expanding into new customers, sectors and geographic markets

* Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service

* Identifying and integrating suitable bolt-on acquisitions

* Working closely with the EIP board on strategy, capital allocation and growth

Candidate profile





We are looking for a commercially minded operator who has successfully led, scaled or transformed an industrial or technical services business.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

* CEO, General Manager, COO or senior divisional leadership

* Industrial, technical or mechanical services

* Engineering, field service or maintenance

* Defence, mining or infrastructure services

* Specialist equipment distribution and aftermarket servicing

* Safety-critical or regulated service environments

* Tier 1 management consulting with a strong operational and performance-improvement focus

Candidates from a Tier 1 consulting background should have experience working directly with management teams to implement operational change, rather than providing strategy or recommendations alone. Relevant experience may include operational transformation, field service optimisation, organisational design, sales-force effectiveness, procurement, margin improvement or post-acquisition value creation.

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

* Strong commercial and financial capability

* Experience managing or working closely with a field-based technical workforce

* A track record of building teams and improving operational performance

* Experience growing service, maintenance or recurring revenue

* The ability to turn strategy into practical execution

* The ability to work constructively with continuing owner-managers

* A practical, hands-on and accountable leadership style

* The ambition and capability to step into full P&L; and organisational leadership

An engineering or technical background would be valuable but is not essential.
