An exciting opportunity for a talented, professional, and creative Senior Kids Product Designer to join SUNNYLiFE, the world’s leading summer lifestyle brand.
As a key member of our Design team, you’ll work side by side with the Creative Director and Head of Product Creative to lead the design direction for our Kids category. You’ll play a pivotal role in forecasting colour, print, and mood trends, developing innovative, design-led concepts, and bringing fresh, imaginative ideas to life across our Kids inflatables, beach, and summer accessories.
This role is ideal for a designer who combines strong conceptual thinking with attention to detail and technical skill, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is motivated to deliver innovative, design-led products that inspire and delight families around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creative vision and product design for the global Kids category.
- Define seasonal direction across colour, print, and mood, ensuring alignment with brand positioning.
- Create original, trend‑led designs across inflatables, beach, swimtime and summer accessories.
- Translate ideas into detailed concepts, CADs, and prototypes that balance creativity with commerciality.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and Head of Product to develop and present design strategy each season.
Product Development & Execution
- Produce detailed design specifications and tech packs, ensuring feasibility and quality.
- Partner with Production to manage the design‑to‑sample process and meet all critical path milestones.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to support range presentations and storytelling through strong design assets.
- Maintain a strong focus on product integrity, safety, compliance regulations and responsible sourcing.
Market Awareness & Innovation
- Research and analyse global design trends to inform new concepts and product development.
- Keep the brand at the forefront of kids’ lifestyle design through ongoing innovation and creative exploration.
- Conduct global market research, maintaining a solid awareness of competitors and category benchmarks across AU, US, and EU markets.
- Continuously explore new materials, finishes, and product opportunities that enhance innovation and design excellence.
- Work cross‑functionally with design, production, sales, and marketing teams.
- Contribute positively to a creative, high‑performing team culture.
- Demonstrate accountability, organisation, and clear communication throughout the design process.
- 8+ years of design experience, with 2+ years in a senior role.
- Proven experience in Kids product design, with strength in print, colour, and concept development.
- Demonstrated success in bringing innovative, cohesive and commercial collections to life.
- Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong visualisation and presentation abilities.
- Deep understanding of technical specification, product safety, and development processes.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
- A refined creative aesthetic that aligns with SUNNYLiFE’s brand direction.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Confident, collaborative, and proactive with a creative problem‑solving mindset.
- A natural sense of fun, curiosity, and a passion for summer and design.
