Role Details
Role type: Full time; Continuing (Tenure).
Faculty: Faculty of Science.
Department/School: Melbourne Veterinary School.
Salary: Level B $124,656 - $148,023 p.a., or Level C $152,695 - $176,065 p.a. plus 17% super.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching in veterinary pathology for DVM and graduate programs across lectures, practicals and fieldwork.
- Lead and report diagnostic necropsies and histopathology cases for internal and external clients.
- Design and progress a coherent veterinary pathology research program aligned with school priorities and external collaborations.
- Supervise and mentor research students, junior academics and pathology residents, fostering their professional development.
- Contribute to curriculum development, school governance, outreach and establishment of a structured residency training program.
Qualifications
- Hold a veterinary degree registrable in Victoria and bring experience in veterinary pathology practice or training.
- Demonstrate a publication track record in veterinary pathology and related fields, relative to prospect.
- Deliver engaging teaching in diagnostic veterinary anatomic or clinical pathology for undergraduate and graduate cohorts.
- Lead or contribute to research projects, including securing external funding and building collaborative networks.
- Provide effective supervision for research students and support for junior academics or residents.
- Manage multiple academic,
diagnostic and service commitments, meeting deadlines with strong organisational skills.
